On September 8, 2015 on the official website of the European Parliament’s Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect (TAXE) a Draft Agenda was published for TAXE’s meeting of September 17, 2015. According to the Agenda, an exchange of views with Jean-Claude Juncker (President of the European Commission) and Pierre Moscovici (Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs) and also an exchange of views with Margrethe Vestager (Commissioner for Competition) will take place on September 17, 2015.
The exchange of views with Mr Juncker and Mr Moscovici was already postponed twice. Initially this exchange of views was planned to take place on July 2, 2015. Then it was rescheduled for July 13, 2015. However, due to the situation regarding Greece at that time, the exchange of views was then again postponed.
According to the Draft Agenda, the meeting will take place on Thursday September 17, 2015 from 9.00 to 12.30 CET and will consist out of three sessions.
The first session is due to start right after the adoption of the agenda and Chair’s announcements. During this session a further exchange of views regarding the Draft Report on tax rulings and other measures similar in nature or effect will take place.
The second session will be held from 10.00 to 11.30 CET. During this session the TAXE Committee will be joined by the European Parliament’s ECON Committee. During this session an exchange of views with Jean-Claude Juncker and Pierre Moscovici will take place.
The third session, which will be held from 11.30 to 12.30 CET, will also be a joint session of the TAXE and ECON Committees. During this session the Committees will exchange views with Margrethe Vestager.
