On November 24, 2015 the Swiss Federal Department of Finance issued a press release announcing that the (new) Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs) with Cyprus and Iceland and the Protocols amending the existing DTAs with Estonia and Uzbekistan have entered into force.

 

According to the press release, the DTA with Cyprus, which was signed on July 25, 2014, entered into force on October 15, 2015.

 

According to the press release the new DTA between Switzerland and Iceland replaces the existing DTA which had been in force since 1989. The new Swiss - Icelandic DTA, which was signed on July 10, 2014, entered into force on November 6, 2015.

 

The press release furthermore states that the Protocols amending the existing Swiss – Estonian and Swiss - Uzbek DTAs entered into force. According to the press release the protocol amending the existing Swiss-Estonian DTA was signed on August 25, 2014 and entered into force on October 16, 2015. The press release furthermore states that the protocol amending the existing Swiss – Uzbek DTA was signed on July 1, 2014 and entered into force on October 14, 2015.

 

According to the press release the abovementioned DTAs and Protocols will be applicable from January 1, 2016.
