INTERNATIONAL TAX PLAZA - Austrian BMF: “Austria and Portugal to assume the coordination of the Financial Transaction Tax Project”

On January 27, 2015 the Austrian Ministry of Finance (BMF) issued a press release stating that it has been agreed that Austria will assume the political coordination and that Portugal will assume the technical coordination of the Financial Transaction Tax Project.

According to the press release it’s the intention to have a proposal ready for the following ECOFIN meeting. Furthermore the press release states that all outstanding issues will be collected, which will then be jointly worked out with the experts of the Commission and technical teams.
