On October 6, 2015 the next EU ECOFIN meeting is going to be held. One of the items on the Agenda is a Proposal for a Council Directive amending Directive 2011/16/EU as regards mandatory automatic exchange of information in the field of taxation. According to information provided on the website of the European Council/Council of the European Union, the Council will discuss the proposal with a view to reaching an agreement.

With respect to this agenda item a.o. the following meeting documents have been published on the website of the European Council/Council of the European Union: 

·        Political agreement (ST 12526 2015 INIT)

·        Proposal for a COUNCIL DIRECTIVE amending Directive 2011/16/EU as regards mandatory automatic exchange of information in the field of taxation

·        International meetings (Ministers will follow-up on the G20 meeting of finance ministers, which took place on 4 and 5 September 2015 in Ankara and will discuss preparations for the upcoming G20 ministerial meeting, which will take place on October 8, 2015 in Lima, Peru)
