On June 17, 2016 the Swiss Parliament had a voting session. During this session the Swiss Parliament a.o. voted on several (Protocols to amend) DTAs and TIEAs as well as on the Amending Protocol to the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation and the European Community Providing for Measures Equivalent to Those Laid Down in Council Directive 2003/48 EC on Taxation of Saving Income in the Form of Interest Payments.

 

Below you will find each time two numbers of votes behind it. This is because the Swiss Parliament consist out of the National Council (200 Members) and the Council of States (46 Members) and for passing each law has to be approved by both Councils.

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the  Amending Protocol to the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation and the European Community Providing for Measures Equivalent to Those Laid Down in Council Directive 2003/48 EC on Taxation of Saving Income in the Form of Interest Payments, which was signed on May 27, 2015, with 127 votes against 69 and 42 votes against 0 (2 abstentions);

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation and Belize for the Exchange of Information on Tax Matters, which was signed on August 10, 2015, with 129 votes against 62 (5 abstentions) and 42 votes against 0 (2 abstentions);

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation for the Exchange of Information on Tax Matters, which was signed on May 19, 2015, with 129 votes against 60 (6 abstentions) and 42 votes against 0 (2 abstentions);

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation and the Sultanate of Oman for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income, which was signed on May 22, 2015, with 131 votes against 53 (12 abstentions) and 43 votes against 0;

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Agreement Between the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, which was signed on July 10, 2015, with 157 votes against 27 (11 abstentions) and 44 votes against 0;

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Protocol Between the Swiss Confederation and the Kingdom of Norway amending the Convention of 7 September 1987 between the Swiss Confederation and the Kingdom of Norway for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital, which was signed on September 4, 2015, with 139 votes against 39 (19 abstentions) and 44 votes against 0;

 

The Swiss Parliament voted in favour of the Protocol Between the Swiss Federal Council and the Council of Ministers of Albania amending the Convention of 12 November 1999 between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Albania for the avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, which was signed on September 9, 2015, with 129 votes against 57 (10 abstentions) and 41 votes against 1 (2 abstentions);
