INTERNATIONAL TAX PLAZA - European Parliament adopts a legislative resolution on the proposal for a Council directive amending Directive 2006/112/EC, as regards rates of value added tax applied to books, newspapers and periodicals

On June 1, 2017 during a plenary session the European Parliament adopted a European Parliament legislative resolution of 1 June 2017 on the proposal for a Council directive amending Directive 2006/112/EC, as regards rates of value added tax applied to books, newspapers and periodicals (COM(2016)0758 – C8-0529/2016 – 2016/0374(CNS)).

According to a press release issued by the European Parliament in this respect the legislative resolution was endorsed by Parliament by 590 votes to 8, with 10 abstentions
