Meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) Council

 

According to Agenda highlights published on the Council’s website, the Council is going to discuss a.o. the following subjects:

·   The Council is expected to approve measures to boost administrative cooperation in the area of VAT;

·   A general reverse charge mechanism for VAT purposes;

·   Reduced VAT rates for e-publications;

·   The Council is also expected to adopt a directive making permanent the minimum standard rate of VAT currently in force;

·   The Council is expected to make adjustments to the EU's list of non-cooperative jurisdictions in taxation matters;

·   The Council is expected to approve a standard provision on taxation to be included in agreements with third countries.
