In this role, you will assist with various international tax planning projects in cooperation with other Stryker Tax personnel while managing the execution of certain projects.



·   Assist in the management of the global tax strategy area, including:

o  Managing the execution of selective international tax projects in cooperation with other Stryker Tax personnel

o  Coordinating and reviewing the pooled Tax Staff's work as they support the tax strategy area

o  Collecting, reviewing, and maintaining all necessary documentation regarding transactions

o  Researching and documenting various tax issues related to tax planning, tax return preparation, audit support, etc.

o  Analyzing the tax effect of current or proposed transactions, including reorganizations, acquisitions, and divestitures

o  Assisting with and review the company’s responses to auditor’s information data requests and notice of proposed adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness

·   Liaise with the Global Transfer Pricing team to ensure coordination with the International Tax team, including:

o  Reviewing the results of Transfer Pricing Adjustments to ensure there are no adverse International Tax consequences

o  Reviewing various tax efficient supply chain planning opportunities from an International Tax perspective

·   Support Business Unit tax managers as needed on tax planning and operational projects, including:

o  Monitoring and maintaining recurring transactions

o  Reviewing Business Development models

o  Supporting other strategic projects as needed

·   Support the Global Tax Accounting and Reporting team, including:

o  Assisting with the US and non-US international aspects of the non-U.S. ACS 740 provision in cooperation with the International Accounting for Income Tax Manager

o  Providing support in identifying, documenting, and monitoring any uncertain tax positions under FIN 48

·   Liaise with the Global Compliance team to ensure transactions are properly reported and disclosed

·   Participate in departmental tax projects as requested

Develop and foster strong working relationships with Business Unit colleagues and cross-functional departments



·   Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

·   CPA, and/or MST preferred

·   Basic understanding of income tax accounting and the quarterly/year-end provision process

·   Strong research and writing skills

·   Strong accounting and analytical skills

·   Minimum 4 years of tax or comparable experience

·   Combination of Fortune 500 corporate tax department and International CPA firm experience preferred

·   Experience with Microsoft Access, CorpTax and HFM softwares a plus

·   Must be proficient in Microsoft Office© applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

·   Should be a self-starter able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

·   Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with individuals from across the Finance Organization, external advisors, and consultants

·   Excellent organization, project management and self-management skills

·   Ability to develop and sustain relationships internally with business units and cross-functionally

·   Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances and/or ability to work in ambiguous situations
