To date 10 out of the 14 multinationals that are invited to TAXE’s meeting of November 16, 2015. 1 multinational has declined the invitation and on November 6 TAXE was still awaiting response from 3 others.

What a difference compared to the score that TAXE obtained when it invited a.o. these same multinationals to appear in one of its Hearings (June 1, June 23 or July 2). Then only 4 out of 18 multinationals accepted the invitation.

 

According to the status overview per November 6, 2015 as published on the website of TAXE, the multinationals that have accepted the invitation to attend the November 16th meeting include:

·        Anheuser-Busch InBev (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, due to ongoing investigation)

·        Barclays Bank Group (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, but remained open to reply to any specific written questions)

·        Coca-Cola Company (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, but met co-rapporteurs)

·        Facebook (previously declined to appear at a Hearing)

·        Google (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, but stated it was ready to send position on the tax issues)

·        HSBC Bank plc (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, due to ongoing investigation)

·        IKEA Services BV (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, but invited Members for a discussion and sent Ikea Group Yearly Summary report (2014))

·        McDonald’s Europe (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, due to coinciding with a major company initiative and a possible Commission enquiry)

·        Philip Morris International (previously declined to appear at a Hearing)

·        The Walt Disney Company (previously declined to appear at a Hearing, but offered to meet with representatives of the Committee to hear their views)

 

Like already earlier, Walmart has declined the invitation to attend TAXE’s November 16th meeting.

 

TAXE is still waiting for responses from Amazon.co.uk Ltd (previously declined, due to ongoing investigation), Amazon EU S.à.r.l. (previously declined, due to ongoing investigation) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (previously declined, due to ongoing investigation).
