On March 22, 2022 the OECD launched a public consultation on a new tax transparency framework for crypto-assets and amendments to the Common Reporting Standard. In this respect the OECD released a public consultation document concerning a new global tax transparency framework to provide for the reporting and exchange of information with respect to crypto-assets, as well as proposed amendments to the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) for the automatic exchange of financial account information between countries. The consultation period ran until April 29, 2022. On May 2, 2022 the OECD published the comments it received on this consultation.

Public consultation meeting on the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework and Amendments to the Common Reporting Standard

On May 23, 2022 (09:30-17:00 CEST) the OECD will hold a public consultation meeting on the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework and Amendments to the Common Reporting Standard. The meeting will be held in hybrid format.

 

In person participation

The OECD states that persons wishing to request to attend the public consultation event in person are invited to submit their application for registration by Thursday May 12, 2022 (12:00PM CEST). Due to space limitations, priority will be given to applicants who have provided timely written comments on the request for input. Applications for registration can be submitted here.

 

Participating via zoom

Persons wishing to attend the public consultation virtually are invited to register on Zoom by Thursday May 19, 2022 (12:00PM CEST).

 

Watching the livestream

This meeting will also be broadcast live on OECD WebTV. No registration is required for watching this livestream.
