On February 3, 2015 the Swiss Federal Department of Finance (FDF) published its annual report on international financial and tax matters. The report reviews and gives an outlook on activities in the areas of financial market regulation, engagement in international financial bodies and international tax policy. The report approved by the Federal Council shows that Switzerland still has to overcome numerous challenges regarding international financial and tax matters. The report is available in both the German as well as the French language.

 

Regarding international tax matters the report a.o. discusses subjects like: 

·       The exchange of information for tax matters

o      OECD’s standard for the automatic exchange of information

o      OECD’s standard for the exchange of information upon request

o      OECD’s Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax purposes (Peer review)

o      The US – Swiss FATCA Agreement

o      UN

·       Business/Company taxation

o      The dialog with the European Union on business/company tax issues

o      Base Erosion and Profit Shifting

·       Bilateral agreements regarding tax

o      DTAs and TIEAs

o      Bilateral issues (France, Italy, The U.S. and India) 

 

As stated above the report is available in the German and the French langauge.
