On May 5, 2015 the Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect had its latest meeting. The next meeting is already planned for the afternoon of May 11, 2015. According to a Draft Agenda as published on the website of the European Parliament, the meeting seems to consist out of three sessions:

  • First session (in camera session);

  • Second session: Panel discussion with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists; and

  • Third session: Panel discussion with Writers/Experts.

 

First session

The first session is scheduled for 14.10 – 15.10 CET. Initially the Draft Agenda as published on the website of the European Parliament stated that the guest speakers for this session would include Stephanie Gibaud and Lutz Otte. Later on these names were deleted from the Draft Agenda and replaced by the term "Guest Speakers TBC". This is an in camera session (not open to the normal public).

 

Second session: Panel discussion with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists

The second session is scheduled for 15.10 – 16.45 CET. This session will be a panel discussion with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. According to the Draft Agenda as published on the website of the European Parliament guest speakers for this session will include a.o. Kristof Clerix (MO), Edouard Perrin (Premières Lignes), Richard Brooks, Lars Bové (De Tijd), Xavier Counasse (Le Soir).

 

Third session: Panel discussion with Writers/Experts

The second session is scheduled for 16.45 – 18.10 CET. This session will be a panel discussion with what are called Writers/Experts. According to the Draft Agenda as published on the website of the European Parliament guest speakers for this session will include a.o. Professor Dominique Berlin, Dr Gabriel Zucman, Dr Achim Doerfer.

 

UPDATE: The next meeting of the Special Committee on Tax Rulings will be broadcasted here. According to the Draft Agenda the meeting will start at 14.00 CET. However due to the fact that the first session is a panel discussion in camera, the broadcast is due to start around 15.00 CET.
