The European Parliament’s Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect has requested several organizations and governments to be provided with documents in order to gather information. In this respect it a.o. requested information from the Commission, the Council, Member States and National Parliaments. The Special Committee has now made a start with publishing official letters on the website of the European Parliament.
Official letters that are currently available on the webpage of the Special Committee include a.o. the information requests sent to: Ms. M. Vestager (Europan Commission – Commissioner for Competition), Ms. M. Klingbeil (European Commission – Deputy Secretary-General in charge of Institutional and Administrative Policies), Mr. U. Corsepius (Council of the European Union – Secretary-General), the permanent representatives of 30 States (letters were also sent to Jersey and Guernsey).
Unfortunately the official letters that are now available, are only the information requests that were sent out. The letter that the Special Committee received from Ms. M. Vestager and that was discussed during the May 5th meeting of the Special Committee for example has not yet been made available. Still it might be worth checking the webpage where the official letters are made available from time to time.
