The Special Committee on Tax Rulings announced that the postponed joint meeting of the European Parliament’s Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect (TAXE), the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) with Mr. Juncker (President of the European Commission) and Mr. Moscovici (Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs) will take place on July 13, 2015 (15.00 – 16.00 CET).

The meeting between TAXE, ECON, Mr. Juncker and Mr. Moscovici was initially planned for July 2, 2015. However, due to the situation in Greece the meeting was postponed. According to the announcement views on tax ruling issues will be exchanged during this meeting.

 

Next to the session in which views will be exchanged with Mr. Juncker and Mr. Moscovici, the Committees will also have sessions with finance ministers from several EU members states (12.00 – 13.00 CET) and the ECOFIN council presidency (13.00 – 13.30 CET).

 

According to the announcement the meeting of July 13, 2015 will be the last one before TAXE will present its report in September 2015.

 

Based on the information provided, during the meeting the following documents will be discussed:

·        Proposal for a COUNCIL DIRECTIVE amending Directive 2011/16/EU as regards mandatory automatic exchange of information in the field of taxation

·        COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL on tax transparency to fight tax evasion and avoidance

·        ANNEX to the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on a Fair and Efficient Corporate Tax System in the European Union: 5 Key Areas for Action
