The U.S. Department of the Treasury on its webpage that is dedicated to FATCA has published the FATCA Agreement between the Government of the United States and the Government of the Republic of Angola.

According to the information provided on the website of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the agreement concluded is a so-called Model 1 IGA.

After the EU ECOFIN Meeting of November 10, 2015 the Council of the EU issued a press release announcing that on that same date the Council repealed Directive 2003/48/EC on taxation of savings income in the form of interest payments.

According to the press release the repeal of the directive follows a strengthening of measures to prevent tax evasion. A significant overlap had developed with other legislation in this field, and the repeal eliminates that overlap.

On the website of the Austrian Ministry of Finance a media release was published in which it is stated that according to the Austrian Minister of Finance significant progress has been made regarding a financial transaction tax. The Austrian Minister of Finance (Hans Jörg Schelling) is the political coordinator of those eleven EU member states which want to introduce a financial transaction tax in the framework of enhanced cooperation.

On November 10, 2015 the European Commission published a brochure titled “Did you know… Facts and figures about the European Union and the G20 – 2015 Turkey G20 Antalya, 15>16 November 2015”.

According to the European Commission, the brochure sets out the European Commission’s aims for the G20 summit. The brochure a.o. contains a paragraph “MOVING FORWARD G20 EFFORTS ON TAX TRANSPARENCY” (See page 14 of the brochure). This paragraph contains a PROPOSAL ON THE AUTOMATIC EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION ON TAX RULINGS presented in a form of a table, which is divided into two columns: 1. current framework and 2. new proposal.

On November 10, 2015 the International Monetary Fund (IMF) published a Staff Concluding Statement of the 2015 Article IV Mission with respect to the Netherlands. The statement contains a.o. a paragraph titled: “Tax Reform – Promoting Growth and Employment”.
