On October 26, 2015 we already reported on the intention of the European Parliament’s Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect (Hereafter: TAXE) to meet with multinational corporations that in an earlier stage had turned down TAXE’s invitation. This extraordinary meeting is scheduled for November 16, 2015. At the time we wrote our October 26th article according to the information as provided by TAXE Facebook and Google had already accepted the invitation. TAXE stated that at that time it was still waiting for reactions from the other invitees.

 

According the latest update of the list (the list as available per November 3, 2015 - 13.00 CET) next to Google and Facebook, now also Barclays Bank Group, Coca-Cola Company, HSBC Bank plc and IKEA Services BV have accepted TAXE’s invitation to participate in the extraordinary meeting of November 16, 2015.

 

Other multinational corporations invited to participate in the meeting, and which have not yet responsed to TAXE’s invitation, include: Amazon.co.uk Ltd, Amazon EU S.à.r.l., Anheuser-Busch InBev, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, McDonald’s Europe, Philip Morris International, Walmart and The Walt Disney Company.
