The European Parliament’s Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect (TAXE 2) has published an overview on its website of 8 banks it invited to its meeting of March 21, 2016. The overview also provides the situation per March 9, 2016 with respect to the replies TAXE 2 received from the banks.

 

The banks invited include: Crédit Agricole (Accepted informally (04/03/2016) - Awaiting official answer and names of the representatives); Deutsche Bank (Accepted informally (04/03/2016) - Awaiting official answer and names of the representatives); ING Group (Accepted (08/03/2016) - Mr. Drs. R.N.J. Schipper (ING Global Head of Tax), Mr. D.J. Kalsbeek, Mr. Raymond Eduard Vermeulen, Mrs. Johanneke Weitjens); Nordea (Accepted (09/03/2016) - Mrs Eva Jigvall Nordea’s (Head of Group Taxes)); Royal Bank of Scotland (Awaiting answer); Santander (Accepted informally (04/03/2016) - Awaiting official answer and names of the representatives); UBS (Awaiting answer); Unicredit (Accepted (08/03/2016) - Awaiting names of the representatives).

 

Unfortunately TAXE 2 has not yet provided any further information on the subject or subjects TAXE 2 would like to discuss with the representatives of these banks.

Furthermore it might be interesting to note that on April 18, 2016 TAXE 2 intends to have an Interparliamentary meeting with representatives of the national parliaments of the EU member states. Mr. Stephen Quest (Director General DG TAXUD) has been invited to give an opening speech at this Interparliamentary meeting.
