During its plenary session of June 7, 2016 the European Parliament is going to discuss the European Commission’s proposal for an Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive. On June 8, 2016 the European Parliament is then going to vote on the proposal.

The European Parliament is being asked to give its opinion on the draft legislation, although the decision will be taken by the Council, which represents EU countries.

The European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee adopted its position on the directive on May 24, 2016 (See our article from May 24, 2016). This position of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee services as a recommendation to MEPs when they vote on it in plenary.
